The leading concept in Fredrick Arnøy's work is the idea of the home and all it carries within; trauma, day dreams and memories. Though the absence of people recurs through his work, traces of presence and vitality are imminent. His pieces interchange between clearly colored shapes - nodding toward concrete art - and areas which are more heavily processed with shapes sculpted through light and shadow. His paintings instill a sensation of nostalgia, but also a subdued, tangible atmosphere.
