The Motbok was a booklet handed out by the Swedish state alcohol monopoly in an attempt to curb alcohol consumption, in full force on a national level from 1919 up until 1955. Those fortunate enough to be considered having the social status respectable enough to receive one, would get each ration declared and stamped in this little pile of papers. It became as much of a status symbol as it did a symbol for the societal divisions that summoned it into existence.
